Reading the SAS forum I got as far as 'enable mods" to see server...and I found only a WW1 training mission in Dogfight selection.

Further reading said to "disable mods" which got me dozens of servers in Dogfight selection but none of which were for Flying Ass Clowns.

Where, in this life, have I gone wrong?

Thanks all,

Woof

For better or for worse I somehow finished up with BOS running through Steam.  It shows version 2.12d.  Is this the latest version?

IL2: Battle Of Stalingrad / Reverse throttle action
December 02, 2017, 01:32:54 AM
I've been buggering with this thing for over a year and am now, finally, having a little success by adding keys in the, hell and damnation I can't think of the name, but it's the third category from the left EXCEPT no matter what I do the throttle works in reverse. I've tried whacking the little inverse arrow, no help, and can't get any action from the gauge with the arrow.  All the other blasted buttons seem to work as advertised. Have cruised Google and Youtube, but nada.

All replies answered in a plain brown envelope.

Ta, in advance...

IL2: Battle Of Stalingrad / activating la5 and fw190
February 10, 2016, 02:26:54 AM
Help, if I may, chaps.  Have been all over the boards but cannot figure out how to activate  the above two a/c.  I bought the deluxe version of BOS with them both installed, and indeed my account show them installed...but they are greyed out.  Have tried inserting the codes, but they come back as invalid. Any thoughts?  Thanks.

Technical support / Updating new install
August 12, 2015, 04:06:31 PM
I've finally, with the help of the forums, figured out how to add fresh 4.07m installs from the disc.  I've update one to 4.10.1.  Now I want to whack in UP3.  I've downloaded UP_3.0 RC4, but it talks about using JGSME before installing.  My 4.10.1 doesn't show the JGSME. What next?  Any help appreciated and rewarded with a nice dish of tripe when next in Miami Beach.

Technical support / can't join hyperlobby hsfx game
March 10, 2015, 07:25:47 PM
Hyperlobby says I'm connected okay but I cannot join Aces Over Europe.  I'm using 1946 version 7 with hsfx.  HL shows the correct path is saved.

Any thoughts?

Multi thanks...

Technical support / How to Empty Drop Box?
December 24, 2014, 02:04:31 AM
Am under threat of imminent injury by DropBox if I don't decrease the amount with which it's stuffed.

Sooo, how do I do this?   Seems to me if I delete anything it will be deleted for all?  Correct?

Is there a DropBox Wizard lurking nearby?

Or is this a matter for an internet gynecologist?

Would one of you whiz bangs be kind enough to tell me exactly what I do to hush the screaming pilots and remove the on screen messages when they're in peril in the air?

My thanks and Marj's old hip bone to the first to restore my serenity.

Technical support / Whining about missing chat panel
March 03, 2014, 05:57:17 PM
Am unable to activate the chat panel with the ~ key.  Nor can I see who just destroyed me.  Some on line searches have suggested changing config entries...to no avail.  Also dragging panel with mouse...also unable as the only time the mouse appears is when the map is active.

This is my current config:  [chat]
region=(dx=0.6925,dy=0.071666665,x=0.0,y=0.0)

Changed it to this as per online suggestion:   [chat]
region=(dx=0.8864286,dy=0.1695238,x=0.0,y=0.0)

No help.

Also changed Chatter from 0 to 1.

No help.

I'd sure appreciate any suggestions as I'm sure you are all quite sick of my querulous and frequent  "Who shot me down?"

Finally, after more technical adventures than ever dreamed of in the Decameron, I'v gotten my rig to free standing statue stage.

I changed the psu, (to 850w) the memory, reset the battery (twice ) swapped vid cards (countless times), changed cables, gotten it to where it would run on one monitor and even once on two, and now it merely lies there, smirking, whilst posting (one beep) but giving forth nary a picture.  My main monitor (the factory says it is running correctly) also keeps telling me it has no digital signal despite new dvi cables this morning.  Oh, the humidity.

Does this signal the end of the motherboard or the cpu and can I live long enough to discover which is the culprit?

A tale of woe, chaps.  My flying computer would not start yesterday morning...normal on shut  down previous night.  I suspected my new whiz bang 15000 fps vid card so I swapped it out for my old reliable gtx275.  Some success in that I can now get into safe, but it still will not start from there.  MS checking and repairing tools say all is well with all components, memory, drives etc.  No virus in rig.

On normal start get win logo then it slowly fades over a minute and then zip.

Any thoughts?

I am trying to install a D-link DWA-182 usb wireless adapter into my pc but keep getting an error code 10, which as near as I can find out on Google means a conflict somewhere.  I also have a Cisco usb adapter which is not being recognized.

Any other usb device I attach is accepted immediately.

Any of you wizardly tech heads any idea what may be going on?

Thanks...
